Rhododendron Ride (Steady)

RIDE: We will ride south on the Burke-Gilman Trail to the NE 60 St connection to BG. We climb 45th Ave NE to have cookies and coffee while touring our private garden for about 45 minutes.    From there we use the secret downhill connection to the NE 93/94 St connection to the Burke-Gilman. We will ride along the trail to the Rhododendron Park in Kenmore. We are passing Matthews Beach if anyone wants to have a shorter ride.  

Route: Come, have fun, converse and enjoy this social bike ride along the Burke Gilman Trail and up through Hawthorne Hills and View Ridge. 

Pace: Steady Pace

Cue sheets: No cue sheets provided. Stay together ride. 

Fenders: If the riding surfaces are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Ride start: We meet at the Matthews Beach parking lot.  Please be ready to ride at 1:00 p.m. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate. Note: Water and restrooms are available at the start. 

Be Prepared:  Be prepared if you have a mechanical problem e.g. flat tire or have a rescue plan, e.g. bus pass (ORCA card).

Parking: Free parking at Matthews Beach parking lot. 

Weather cancellation: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride location.
