Let's meet in the parking lot in front of Key Bank. It is a shared parking lot for multiple businesses, so parking is free. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
This ride will take us along scenic roads in Port Orchard and Manchester. There is a planned stop at Whiskey Gulch near the end of the ride for a chat, refreshments and food. Join me on the deck and a view of the bay.
This ride is listed as a self paced ride to accommodate different abilities. The ride leader, will hold a leisurely pace (10 -12 mph) and lead from the rear of the group for people who are interested in riding together.
Restrooms are available at a reasonable distance from the start. There is a chance to stop along the way for restrooms/water at mile 7.5 (Manchester dock). About 1/2 miles from the finish, there will be a chance to stop at Whiskey Gulch for food and refreshments.
Please make sure to download the route - particularly if you do not expect to ride at a leisurely pace with the ride leader. This is a self paced ride. Every rider should be prepared to ride and navigate on their own.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
