Let's meet at the Woodinville Sports Fields parking lot and please be ready to ride at 10 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing and ride announcements, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Parking is at the Woodinville Sports Fields.
We will start by riding four trails to Marymoor Park and then along the west side of Lake Sammamish to Newport Way. We'll climb Newport Way and then take the I-90 trail, head through the Beaux Arts neighborhood of Bellevue, and visit Downtown Park. We'll then roll through Medina to the 520 trail and along the lake to Kirkland, where we'll stop for coffee. We'll finish with the climb up Market to Juanita, and then the climb up 100th and roll down the hill to Bothell, and then get back on the Sammamish River Trail to Woodinville.
We will stop for restrooms and water at MP 8.7 at Marymoor Park and 26.3 at Downtown Park, and for coffee at MP 33.5 at Sano Coffee.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup at the top of hills and before major turns. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (occasionally the lower end of our pace, 10 MPH).
Restrooms and water are available at the start, in the retail building to the east of the soccer field, or across the street at Wilmot Gateway Park.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: water or hydration mix, snack, phone, cash and/or credit card, ORCA card. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group. Please also have the route in case you aren't able to stay with the group, so you can finish the ride on your own.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We look forward to riding with you!
