Come, have fun, converse and enjoy this flat social bike ride along the Burke Gilman and the Sammamish River Trail.
Route: Starting at Gas Works Park, we will ride north on the Burke-Gilman Trail and the Sammamish River Trail to check out the new sculpture at the Sammamish River Bridge at Bothell. Then we'll head to the to the North Shore Senior Center (NSSC) for a snack stop. A variety of homemade pies (as well as other sweet treats) with whipped or ice cream, sodas and coffee are usually available for riders to purchase at a reasonable price. Please note: purchases may be with cash (small bills please), charge or debit cards (plastic purchases are a minimum of $1.00). We will be there for about 30 to 40 minutes, use the restrooms if needed and then return via the Burke Gilman Trail. On our way back, we can stop at Agua Verde for a late lunch if anyone is interested.
Restrooms: Restrooms/Porta Potties and water are available at the start and at NSSC around mile 16.
Ride start: We meet at the Gas Works Park parking lot. Please be ready to ride at 10:30 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Be Prepared: Be prepared if you have a mechanical problem e.g. flat tire or have a rescue plan, e.g. bus pass (ORCA card).
Parking: Free parking at Gas Works Park parking lot.
Weather cancellation: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride location.
