Let's meet at the "The Harp" in Kent. Be there, ready to go at 9AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Get ready to kick off the cycling season with a bang at our "Spring Has Sprung" ride! We're shaking things up for this special ride, starting in Kent instead of Auburn, and taking you on an epic journey through Sumner, Lake Tapps and all the way out to Carbonado for a scenic loop. We'll cruise back through Buckley, soak in the farm views around Enumclaw, and make our way through the Muckleshoot area before rolling back into Kent.
This ride is a bit longer but with gentler climbs, making it the perfect way to shake off the winter cobwebs. After we wrap up the ride, we'll head over to The Harp, an awesome Irish pub, where those who want to can stick around for some well-earned beers, tasty bites, and a belated St. Paddy’s Day celebration—plus a toast to the new season and my birthday!
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup occasionally. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
Restrooms ARE NOT available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at:
Mile 19 - ALLAN YORKE PARK (Restrooms)
Mile 28 - Chevron Gas Station (Restrooms/Water/Snacks)
Mile 65 - Isaac Evans Park (Restrooms - Optional)
Mile 70 - The Harp!
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack.
Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
