... of 6 spots remaining
Registration deadline is 3/15/2026 8:00am
Let's meet below the Hummingbird artwork at the Lynnwood Transit Center (exact location is in the "Ride Details" section at the top of this page). Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Have you ever wanted to explore as much of our region as possible in a day on a bicycle or wanted to take advantage of the flexibility that comes with combining biking and transit?
That's exactly what we will be doing for this fun ride, starting at the Lynnwood Station in Snohomish County and ending at the Federal Way Downtown Station in South King County. We will be biking to interesting, random and some lesser known places close to the 1-Line and take the train to skip over some of the longer sections. We will also be passing through / riding by all the stations on this line.
If you are not comfortable riding the full distance, you can join us at the Central Plaza atop the Capitol Hill station (you can find the exact location at the top of this ride listing) at 1PM. We will have another safety briefing at this location in Capitol Hill for any new joiners before we proceed on our way to Federal Way. Please text the Ride Leader beforehand if you are joining here instead.
Please note this is a one-way ride, but several options exist to get you back to the start. More details further below.
If you are interested in a “Leisurely” or “Moderate” (and longer) version instead, let the Ride Leader know (contact details at the top) and I will consider scheduling another ride based on interest.
Getting to the Start 🎯
- By Transit: Take the 1-Line (or any of the nearby bus routes) to Lynnwood City Center Station. If you are not accustomed to taking transit, check the "Links" section on the right side of this listing for helpful resources, or feel free to ask the Ride Leader any questions before the day of the ride.
- Bike access: The station is connected to the Interurban Trail.
- Driving: The station has a parking garage and is located besides I-5.
Restrooms are available at the start and at several locations along the ride.
Ride Details 🏙️
Route:
We will be riding to several locations along the 1-Line. Some of them are well-known, others are less so. This ride is as much about having fun exploring and finding hidden gems in the areas around our everyday life as it's about riding itself.
We will take the train in between several of our locations. Our ride officially ends at the Federal Way Downtown Station. Several transit options are available to get back to the start / across the region. If you are not accustomed to taking transit, check the "Links" section on the right side of this listing for helpful resources, or feel free to ask the Ride Leader any questions before / on the day of the ride.
If there's interest, we can also extend the ride after that to explore some additional places around Federal Way.
Pace: We will keep within the posted pace range (12-14 mph) on the flats. We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will stay together as a group for the entire ride.
Safety 🦺
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
