Mercer Island: A Thursday Morning Spin (Leisurely)

Shake off the mid-winter blues with a quick spin around Mercer Island at a leisurely pace, and, after the spin, return to your office or home refreshed and ready for new challenges.

We will gather for this ride at Aubrey Davis Park on Mercer Island.  We'll assemble adjacent to the park on SE 22nd Street (on-street parking).  Restrooms and water are available in the park, near the start. Please be ready to ride at 10:00. We will start with the required safety briefing and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

The ride will be 15 mildly hilly miles.  At mile 9.5, we will pass signage for Groveland Beach Park (shown in the photo announcing the ride), but we will not "exit" there or follow local streets to the steep descent into the park.  We will continue straight on West Mercer Way.  After completing the loop around Mercer Island, we'll make a coffee/snack stop in the Island's business district.  

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride
