HOOA! Three Epic Climbs (Vigorous)
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
... of 15 spots remaining
Let's meet at the Tukwila SOUNDER/AMTRAK Station Parking lot for a fun Valentine's Day of hills and sweat. (NOTE: This is NOT the same as the Tukwila light rail station; see the address if you are unsure) Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
This is going to be EPIC! We have three amazing climbs that will leave you wondering why you do this. But it'll all be worth it because we will have some great views like: Lake Sammamish, the troll Jakob Two Trees, and Beaver lake. But the best part will be the company you will have. The HOOA crew is ready to show you what we are made of and we'd love it if you can join. And yeah, you can't brag about it, unless you actually ride it. See you there!
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup at the top of the climbs. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum in the Cedar River trail and the Eastrail trail. (15mph, and 10mph on some sections.)
Restrooms are not available at the start, but we will have plenty of opportunities. Official stops:
Mile 17: Lake Sammamish State park
Mile 33: Coffee/Lunch break. At Sammamish Highlands with multiple options (Donuts, sandwich, pizza)
Mile 59: Ron Regis Park
This is a long ride, so even though we plan to have sunlight throughout the event, bring a working white headlight and red rear tail light in case there are any incidents that keep us on the road longer than planned.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
