... of 10 spots remaining
Let's meet at the Woodinville Sports Fields parking lot and please be ready to ride at 10 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing and ride announcements, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Parking is at the Woodinville Sports Fields.
We will ride around the north end of Lake Washington, criss-cross through Kirkland, and head back to Woodinville, using interconnected trails and some streets. In addition to the paved Sammamish River and Burke-Gilman trails, we'll use the Cross Kirkland Corridor Trail and Eastrail, which will give us fun and challenging miles of riding on crushed gravel. These trail surfaces are quite smooth, well-packed, fine gravel, easy to ride on narrow bike tires. These trails highlight some of the excellent bike infrastructure being developed in our area. There are a couple of places where the Cross Kirkland Corridor is closed for construction so we'll ride some fun detours as well.
We will stop for restrooms and water at MP 8.7 at Marina Park and for coffee at MP 21 at Kitanda Market, Coffee and Acai.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup at the top of hills and before major turns. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (occasionally the lower end of our pace, 10 MPH).
Restrooms and water are available at the start, in the retail building to the east of the soccer field, or across the street at Wilmot Gateway Park. We will stop for restrooms and water around miles 10 (Marina Park) and 19 (Feriton Spur Park).
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: water or hydration mix, snack, phone, cash and/or credit card, ORCA card. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group. Please also have the route in case you aren't able to stay with the group, so you can finish the ride on your own.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We look forward to riding with you!
