... of 10 spots remaining
Let's meet at the Gas Works Park Parking Lot. Be there, ready to go at 10:00 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
We will head towards the Fremont District and then south along the west side of Lake Union, down along the waterfront, and over to West Seattle. We will then head down to Lincoln Park and up along the water front. The views are potentially terrific. We will then retrace our path back to Gas Works Park.
On the way back we will stop in Bell Town for a break at a bakery that we have pre-tested.
We will stay within the rated "Steady" speed for level riding. We will climb and descend hills at our own pace. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH). We will regroup at the top of hills.
Restrooms are available at the start and at Lincoln Park
Headlights and tail lights are not required, but the ride leader believes it never hurts to have lights on your bike. A rear view mirror doesn't hurt either.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Weather cancellation: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status, or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. Generally speaking, if it looks like it will not be raining at the start location then we will try to do the ride.
Cold Weather : Cold weather looks to be a possibility next week. Because frost and ice can be difficult to predict, if the temperatures at start time may be near freezing we will cancel.
If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride location.
If you have questions, please contact the Ride Leader.
We hope you can join us!
