Please note, this is a Women and Non-binary ride only. WNB rides are only for individuals that identify as a woman or non-binary, including transgender women and cisgender women. Male identifying riders can support this group best by finding other appropriate rides on the Free Group Rides calendar and leaving this space for WNB riders.
Let's keep those winter legs going and ride around Lake Sammamish! We will start at the East Lake Sammamish Trail parking lot, behind Whole Foods in Redmond, just one block away from the Marymoor Village Transit Station. This will be a 25-mile route at a true Steady pace of 12-14 mph. We will be on roads mostly with bike lanes, and then some trails. We will have a few small hills and our goal will be to stay together.
We will stop at Issaquah Coffee House for coffee and a warm up half-way through the ride.
Please meet in the parking lot and be ready to ride promptly at 10:00 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing and then begin riding when that's done. If you miss the briefing, you will not be able to ride with the group.
A port-a-potty is available at the start.
If you are unsure of your pace or are a new rider, please feel free to contact me to determine if this ride is good for you!
Weather: If it is raining at the start, or the temp is 42 degrees or less, or if significant rain is forecasted during the ride, there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions, or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and the Ride Leader will not be a the start location.
If a rider has a mechanical issue, we will stop to assist the rider. If there is a major mechanical issue preventing a roadside fix, we will ensure the rider has a safe means to return to the start or home. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case.
Helmets are required. If you don’t have full fenders and the roads are wet, you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
We hope you will join us!
