Tacoma - Wily Cycleworks loop (Moderate)

Let's meet at Wily Cycleworks on  6th avenue in Tacoma. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

Sights along the route: Wright Park, Ruston Way, Point Defiance Park, Owen Beach and University of Puget Sound. 

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup frequently - after hills and before turns if we are spread out. 

Note: If you are coming by car, there are no large parking lots nearby, but there is quite a bit of street parking in the neighborhood. Give yourself a little more time to find parking if you are coming with a car. 

There are many businesses on 6th avenue, including Wily's where we will start, that will let you use a washroom. We will stop midway for restrooms/water before climbing out of Owen Beach and there are a few other washrooms along the route that we can stop at if needed. 

Optional post ride social at Wily's -  Wily's is also a bike shop and you can bring your bike inside. 

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; lights on your bike: water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
