**CANCELLED** Hills Out Of Auburn: Flat Hills to Enumclaw (Brisk)
Ride Contact
Event has been cancelled.
... of 15 spots remaining
Let's meet at the Auburn Fred Meyer in the northwest parking lot. Be there, ready to go at 9:00. Come early if you need to use the restroom or buy drinks and snacks. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
HOOA! We dial it back this week with only 1600 ft of climbing. We start out going south down the valley for a flat 15 miles to get on the Foothills Trail. Then follow the trail for another 19 miles, a false flat up through Orting and South Prairie to get to the deepest back roads of Enumclaw. Then we make our way back north through the Osceola Plateau, and drop down into Green Valley for our final meander through pastures and farmlands along the river.
We will climb hills, Haha, (they don't seem like hills) at our own pace, therefore we will probably just stay together. There is one massive descent that will be at your comfortable pace and regroup at the bottom. We'll also limit our speed on the multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH). We will be on trails for about 23 miles. Don't worry though, 19 miles of this is up a steady avg 2%. Check your watts, you Briskies won't be disappointed!
Restrooms are available at the start.
Theres a store for snacks and drinks and restrooms in South Prairie mile 27
Final porta-potty stop will be at Whitney Bridge Park mile 56
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If its just drizzly, we are still riding. We will cancel if there's a steady rain. If there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, we will reroute and continue. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us, HOOA!
