The Morning Eye Opener Returns - South Lake Washington (Steady)

Let's meet at the Heritage Park. Be there, ready to go at 9:00 AM.  We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

We are going to do the South Lake Washington loop and return on the 520 bridge.  We will come north on Lake Washington Blvd through Leschi and the Arboretum to the 520 bridge.

We will stay within the rated "Steady" speed for level riding.  We will climb and descend hills at our own pace.  We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).

Restrooms are available at:  Marina Park in Kirkland (right after the start),  Coulon Park in Renton,  at 3rd Place Books and Caffe Vita in the Seward Park neighborhood,  and at Madrona Park just north of Leschi.

We will stop at Seward Park for a short break.

Headlights and tail lights are not required, but the ride leader believes it never hurts to have lights on your bike.  A rear view mirror doesn't hurt either. 

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Weather cancellation: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status, or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email.  Generally speaking, if it looks like it will not be raining at the start location then we will try to do the ride. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride location.
