Let's meet at the South Kirkland Park & Ride at the time listed above, ready to ride. We’ll begin with a mandatory safety briefing, and we’ll roll out once it’s complete. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
This ride is a scenic 36-mile loop covering the SR 520 Bridge, Lake Washington Blvd, I-90 Bridge, Mercer Island, Medina, and Clyde Hill, with a total elevation gain of ~2,100 feet. Expect challenging hill climbs and rewarding views of Lake Washington. We’ll take a 25-minute coffee break at mile 26.9 at Dilettante Mocha Café.
We’ll climb and descend hills at our own pace, with occasional regrouping to stay together. On multi-use paths, we’ll adhere to the legal speed limit for safety.
Restrooms are NOT available at the starting point. Restroom and water stops are planned at mile 9.9 at Leschi Park and at mile 27.1 at Dilettante Mocha Café.
Rider Responsibility, Navigation & Mechanicals: Please be prepared to be self-sufficient on this ride. This includes knowing how to handle minor mechanical issues (like changing a flat) and carrying the necessary tools and supplies. Should you become separated from the group for any reason (mechanical, pace, etc.), you are responsible for your own navigation and safe return. We strongly recommend downloading the route to a GPS device or phone app. Have a backup plan in case you cannot complete the ride, such as a charged cell phone to call for pickup or an ORCA card for public transit options along the route. While we regroup at designated points, please understand that ride leader(s) may not be able to wait indefinitely for individuals who fall significantly behind or require lengthy stops.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
