Registration deadline was 8/30/2025 7:00am
Join us for a Mt. Baker Climb ride on a 48-mile route at Moderate pace, 14-16 mph, Let's meet at the Glacier Public Service Center, 10091 Mt. Baker Hwy, Glacier, WA. Arrive early, and please be ready to ride at 9am. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
This ride is recommended for experienced climbers. Pace will be slower on way up, and rapid on descent. I’ve verified that the road will be open all the way to Artist Point.
The ride will be approximately 48 mi total with 5300' elevation gain in 24 miles (4% grade). Due to the nature of the climb, the group may spread out on the way up. We will regroup at Silver Fir Campground (mi 13.5) & the top (Artist’s Point). We will stop at the Heather Meadows Lodge for food on the way down. Restrooms and water at the start, Heather Meadows & Artist Point only. I recommend wider tires or using a gravel bike. Carpooling is encouraged. If you have a Forest pass, bring it for parking.
Your cell phone may not have signal either. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
