If you are looking forward to exploring the city on a culinary cycling circuit, join us!
Currywurst rides is a collection of 8 rides to unique food venues. We usually will be touring neighborhoods on Sundays from June through September every other week or so. The rides are between 28 to 45 miles with moderate hills with up to 2000 feet of elevation gain. The rides feature restaurants or taverns as the start and finish location that have Currywurst, Schnitzel and/or Rouladen on their menu. Can you tell that the ride organizer and ride leader is German? The goal is to work up an appetite first and then enjoy the social aspect of dining together. Ride start: We are at ride #8
This ride is our final ride in the Currywurst ride series. As a special treat we will be visiting a fantastic German bakery in Lake City. Original Bienenstich awaits!!! YUMMY!!
Similar to our first ride in the series this ride is visiting several neighborhoods in Seattle. The ride starts on Alki Beach in West Seattle. From here we cruise along the waterfront to downtown Seattle, cross over to Lake Union, follow the Burke-Gilman trail, and visit the Kaffeeklatsch bakery in Lake City. After a yummy cake and pie we head towards Northgate and visit Greenlake, Wallingford, Gas Works Park, Fremont and West Lake Union before returning along the waterfront to West Seattle and Alki Beach.
Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup occasionally. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start at the Alki Beach House. Restrooms are also available at the Kaffeeklatsch bakery at mile 20.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Please also remember to bring a lock to secure your bike when joining the social part of the ride.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.

What to Know Before You Go
