60 Acres to May Valley Jaunt with a TANDEM in the lead! (Brisk)

Join us for 58-mile cruise with a few hills as we head out towards one of our favorites, May Valley Road!  Ride leader will be on a tandem for this ride!

Any style bike is welcome, but we're encouraging tandem teams!

The dynamics, cadence and pace will be geared towards tandems; slower on the uphills, very fast on the downhills and a strong pull on the flats.  But overall we will do a Brisk pace with frequent regroups. Speeds on multi-use paths will be kept to the legal limit of 15mph.  

We will cruise Lake Sammamish, climb Newport Hills, enjoy May Valley Road and Issaquah/Hobart Road, then finish with East Lake Sammamish, and English Hill.

Let's meet at Sixty Acres in Redmond.  Please be there, ready to go at 10:00 am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

Port-a-potties are available at the start, but there is no water. We will stop along the way for restrooms and water at  13 and 49 miles. We’ll also stop for lunch at the Issaquah Safeway at mile 36.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring are a phone, ID, cash and/or credit card, ORCA card, water and snacks. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.  

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
