With kind permission from Vicar Beth Orling, we'll meet in the parking lot of Faith Episcopal Church in Poulsbo, where you will find my white Sprinter van—your beacon for the ride. Be there, ready to go, at the time listed above. We will begin with a required safety briefing and roll out once that's complete. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Join us for a scenic and rewarding 43-mile ride through North Kitsap, featuring three interconnected loops that roll through Indianola, Kingston, and Little Boston. Expect shady forest roads, coastal views, and about 3,000 feet of elevation gain that adds just the right amount of challenge. We’ll ride at a moderate pace with friendly regroups and take a lunch break in Kingston, enjoying sweeping views above the ferry terminal. The route offers a mix of rolling hills, quiet backroads, and scenic stretches ideal for building endurance—or simply soaking in the Puget Sound beauty as we climb, coast, and repeat through this classic Kitsap ride.
Bonus Fun Fact
It’s worth noting that Kitsap County is celebrated not only for its natural beauty but also for its vibrant communities and rich Native American heritage. The Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe and the Suquamish Tribe—the original stewards of this land—continue to shape the region through their deep cultural roots, community contributions, and enduring connection to the breathtaking landscapes of the West Sound.
The ride takes about four hours or less, depending on pace. We’ll make restroom stops at key points along the route: Shell Station near the start, then Indianola (mile 13), Kingston (19), Heronswood Garden (32), and a second Shell Station (mile 40).
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and regroup frequently. We'll also limit our speed on multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
Bring plenty of water, snacks, a packed lunch, a spare tube, and the tools you need to fix a flat. Don’t forget your phone, photo ID, and a bit of cash or a credit card for mid-ride purchases. If roads are wet, full fenders with long buddy flaps are required—otherwise, you may be asked to ride at the back to keep the group dry. Plan ahead, pack right, and ride ready!
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride, and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, the Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
