... of 15 spots remaining
Let's meet at the Old Renton City Hall (200 Mill Ave Bldg.) parking lot in Downtown Renton. Be there and ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out promptly afterward. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Join us for a scenic 37-mile ride from Old Renton City Hall to Ristretto’s Coffee in Lake Sawyer. Our route follows the Cedar River Trail and Witte Road out to Ristretto’s, where we’ll enjoy coffee and refreshments on their deck with a view of Mt. Rainier. Our return route follows the same path with a detour along Jones Road. We'll ride at a steady pace of 12 to 13 mph on the flats when there is no wind. We’ll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH and 10 MPH on portion of Cedar River Trail in Renton ). We’ll climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup. The ride will take about 3.5 hours, including a 20-minute coffee stop at Ristrettos. A GPS route map and cue sheet are at the link, below.
Restrooms and water available near start location at King County Library. We will also stop at Ristretto's at mile 19 for snacks and coffee.
A working white headlight and red rear tail light (steady mode preferred) are required to participate.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We'll look forward to riding with you.
