Please note, this is a Women and Non-binary ride only. W&NB rides are only for individuals that identify as a woman or non-binary, including trans-gender women and cis-gender women. Male identifying riders can support this group best by finding other appropriate rides on the Free Group Rides calendar and leaving this space for W&NB riders.
Come join us for a ride! We'll start at Blyth Park in Bothell and do a 33 mile route at a Steady pace of 12-14 mph. We will ride past Woodinville, along the Cross Kirkland Corridor Trail (gravel, suitable for road bikes), alongside Lake Washington in Kirkland, then up the 520 trail. We'll stop for a beverage & snack at Queen Bee (bring $ if you wish to purchase) then continue across the 520 bridge, through the UW campus, down to Meadowbrook Park Community Garden where hopefully the zinnias will be in bloom! This route includes flat paved trail riding, flat unpaved trail riding, and a few good climbs. We will regroup at the top of hills and at turns.
Restrooms and water are available at the start. There will be a food/beverage stop at Queen Bee on Clyde Hill MP 16.3. Please bring money if you wish to purchase coffee/snacks.
Please meet outside the restrooms at Blyth Park by 10 am ready to ride.
We will start with a required safety briefing promptly at 10am. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
If you are unsure of your pace or are a new rider, please contact me to determine if the pace would be appropriate.
If a rider has a mechanical issue, we will stop to assist the rider. If there is a major mechanical issue preventing a roadside fix, we will ensure the rider has a safe means to return to the start or home. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
Helmets are required.
If you don’t have full fenders and the roads are wet, you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
We hope you will join us!
