Renton to Alki Coffee Company (Steady)

Let's meet at the Burnett Linear Park parking lot in Downtown Renton at 502 Burnett Ave S.  Be there and ready to go at the listed start time. We will begin with a required safety briefing, and roll out promptly afterward. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

Join us for a scenic, flat 34-mile ride from Burnett Linear Park in Downtown Renton to Alki Beach. Our route follows the Green River and Duwamish trails through South Park, with a mid-point coffee break at the newly opened Alki Coffee Co (formerly Starbucks). We’ll return along the same route. This is a steady-paced group ride, lasting approximately 3.5 hours, including a 20-minute break. While this route is flat, we’ll climb and descend any minor inclines at our own pace, regrouping as needed to stay together. We’ll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).  Expect great company, smooth trails, and waterfront views. New riders are welcome! This is an excellent opportunity to build group riding experience in a friendly, supportive environment.

Restrooms are not available at the start, but we will have a restroom stop 4 miles in at Foster Golf Links.

Bring a spare tube and tools for flat repair just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. If the roads are wet, please use full fenders—you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group if you don't have them.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
