Gas Works to North Lake Loop Clockwise with PIE (Steady)
Event has already happened.
... of 10 spots remaining
Starting at Gas Works Park, we will ride north on the Burke-Gilman Trail to the North Shore Senior Center (NSSC) in Bothell, just beyond Blyth Park. We then take a pie, brownie or cookie break at NSSC. A variety of homemade pies with whipped or ice cream, sodas and coffee are usually available for riders to purchase at a reasonable price. Please note: purchases may be with cash (small bills please), charge or debit cards (plastic purchases are a minimum of $1.00). We will be there for about 30 to 40 minutes, use the restrooms if needed and then continue around the lake.
Route: Come, have fun, converse and enjoy this social bike ride along the Burke Gilman Trail, the Sammamish River Trail, the Cross Kirkland Trail, and the 520 Trail.
Restrooms: Restrooms/Porta Potties and water are available at the start, at the Northshore Senior Center around mile 15, and at the Feriton Spur Park on the Google Campus around mile 26.
Pace: Steady on the flats, but this ride leader will be SLOW on the climbs, so you may be waiting for me at the top of each climb.
Fenders: If the riding surfaces are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Ride start: We meet at the Gas Works Park parking lot. Please be ready to ride at 10:30 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Be Prepared: Be prepared if you have a mechanical problem e.g. flat tire or have a rescue plan, e.g. bus pass (ORCA card).
Parking: Free parking at Gas Works Park parking lot.
Weather cancellation: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride location.
If you have questions, please contact the Ride Leader.
