Fall City Post Office to Red Barn Loop (Moderate)
Registration Now Open
... of 10 spots remaining
Let's meet at the Fall City POST OFFICE. There should be plenty of street parking. Please avoid parking at the post office parking lot. Be there, ready to go at 10:30 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Join us for a ride from Fall City on a 34.5 mile route at moderate pace (14-16 mph) through the quiet and scenic Snoqualmie River Valley with a short refreshment stop at the Carnation Farm Stand, Sandy's Espresso, or Starbucks in Carnation on the way back. We can take a vote at the mid-point of the ride.
The ride will begin and end with some rolling climbs on SE Issaquah Fall City Road. Then we're rewarded with some fun descents into mostly flat farmland. We will also ride on a 1/2 mile of packed gravel trail around mile 10 to avoid biking on and turning left on a busy road.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, but we will regroup frequently.
There are no restrooms at the start, but the library a block away should be open at 10 AM and does have restrooms. We will also stop at mile 13 at Chinook Bend Natural Area for a restroom break.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
