North Bend to Middle Fork Snoqualmie Rd (Steady)
Event has already happened.
... of 10 spots remaining
Let's meet at Mount Si View Park in North Bend. Be there, ready to go 10 AM. We will start with the required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Route: We will ride out of North Bend, through a neighborhood and onto the Middle Fork Road, a beautiful well paved low traffic road with a gentle climb alongside the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River. At the end of the paving, just beyond a short gravel section, we will take a break at the picnic tables by the river at the Garfield Ledges Trailhead where there is a pit toilet available, but no water. On the way back, we will stop at the Middle Fork trailhead and walk over to the Gateway Suspension bridge for exceptional views over the river and a group photo.
Pace: The pace is steady at 12 to 14 mph. We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, but we will try to stay together and regroup frequently, usually after a long climb.
Food: Bring snacks and a full large water bottle for yourself because we don't plan on stopping at a convenience store for supplies.
Restrooms: Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms at the halfway point. There is no running water so bring ample and there is no commercial outlet so bring your lunch.
Fenders: If the roads are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry or be prepared to ride at the rear of the group.
Mechanical: Be prepared to handle mechanical issues if you have a problem e.g. flat tire. Bring a spare tube, tools, patch kit, pump and skills to fix flats and have a mobile phone and a plan for rescue in case your bike fails. Cell service unlikely during parts of the route. Other things to bring: ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack.
Cue sheets: No cue sheets will be provided. A Ride With GPS map file and a cue sheet are available at the ROUTE link. If you want a cue sheet, please print it and bring it along or download to your smartphone or device.
Weather cancelation: If there are steady showers or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, the Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride location.
We hope you can join us!
