Kirkland Social: Spring in the Arboretum (Steady)

Let's meet at Heritage Park Parking Lot. Be ready to ride at the time listed above. We will start with the required safety briefing and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate. If you plan to join enroute please contact the ride leader in advance to arrange for a safety briefing.

We will ride north to Juanita Bay Park and Forbes Creek to 112th where we will turn south on the Cross Kirkland Corridor.   After crossing the 520 Bridge the route turns south to cross over the highway on the new trail overpass that joins Lake Washington Blvd.  We will continuing south on Arboretum Drive East/E Lk Washington Blvd to the rest/food stop at Starbucks @ Leschi, mile 17.2.  The route returns to the start via the Arboretum Trail, the 520 Trail and north on Lake Washington Blvd NE. 

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and will regroup when necessary. Riders should be able to sustain a 12-14 mile per hour pace on the flats with a commensurate level of effort on the hills.

Restrooms and water are not available at the start, but we will stop at Juanita Bay Park @ mile 1.7.  Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring are a phone, ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. 

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, the Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
