Let's meet at the Ride Leaders Pavilion outside of Cascade Bicycle Club. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Come celebrate the grand opening of the Redmond Light Rail Station. We heard from sponsors of this event that there is funding for incentives for ride leaders and riders. Specifically, the event producers are going to be sourcing some swag, and will likely be able to provide food/beverages to groups too (likely in the form of coffee, pie and pastries). Cascade Bicycle Club is hosting a tent and is providing guarded bicycle parking.
This is an almost flat ride but we will try to stay together. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
Restrooms are not guaranteed to be available at the start. There are many options along the way at Matthews Beach, Log Boom and Blyth Park if needed. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at Wilmot Gateway Park about 12 miles into the ride. There are likely to be coffee/snacks at the Redmond Light Rail Station.
This is a one way ride. The ride leader will be leaving around 1:30 pm and returning via the 520 Trail to Seattle. The ride leader will not be going all the way back to Cascade Bicycle Club. You are free to stay as long as you like and return whatever way you choose. You can ride back with the leader if you choose.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
