Align Your Carbohydrate Compass: Snohomish Bakery (Steady)
Event has already happened.
... of 15 spots remaining
Let's meet at the Blyth Park Parking lot. Be there, ready to go at 10am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
The sun is out, and that means it's time to dust off our internal "carbohydrate compass" and pay a visit to the Snohomish Bakery! We're borrowing a great route to go there with a couple of variations to keep it from being a fully out-and-back journey. It's early season, and many of us are still dusting off our hill-climbing legs -- we will not leave anyone behind. If the group is spreading out we'll try to adjust pace to keep things together. This might mean we're a bit slower than advertised so please be prepared to enjoy the camaraderie of a bike ride on a (fingers-crossed) beautiful day!
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup frequently. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start.
Planned Stops:
Mile 9 (if needed) - We will stop briefly to check for needs and potentially divert to Maltby Park (about a block away), otherwise we will continue
Mile 18.8 (30 minutes) - Snohomish Bakery - food/water/restrooms
Mile 26.6 (5 minutes)- Maltby Park (water/restrooms)
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
