North Lake Washington loop from Redmond (Steady)

... of 15 spots remaining
The GR2R Eastside series is complete, and we have a break weekend before CTS begins. If you're on the Eastside and looking for a steady, enjoyable ride, join us for a fun and casual bike ride looping North Lake Washington.
We will meet at 60 Acres Park in Redmond (furthest SE parking lot) and please be ready to ride at 10:00 am. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
This is a 35 mile ride with an elevation of about 1140 feet. The ride starts with some early climbing on the 520 Trail, rewarded by scenic views from the Evergreen Point Bridge. After crossing Lake Washington, we'll roll through the UW fields and return via the Burke-Gilman Trail, which is mostly flat.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup frequently and as needed. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
Restrooms (port-a-potty) is available at the start, but there is no water so please fill up at home. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at mile 25 at the Log Boom park.
All riders should bring ID; spare tube, tools, patch kit, pump, and skills to fix flats; a phone and a plan for rescue if your bike fails; and snacks and water. Waiting for mechanical issues will be at the discretion of the ride leader. We are transitioning to spring (from winter), so please dress appropriately and use fenders with long mudflaps on your bike or you will be asked to ride at the back of the group. Please download or print the Ride with GPS route if needed, ride leaders will not have copies.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
Come ride with us for a social, enjoyable and a scenic loop around the lake! 🚴🚴🚴
PS: I have kept this to a small group, but if there is enough interest and I can get more ride leaders, I will open up for additional slots.
