Let's meet at the Auburn Fred Meyer Northwest parking lot. Be there, ready to go at 10:00. Come early if you need to use the restroom, or buy snacks and drinks. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
HOOA! We start out by riding through the Muckleshoot Reservation into the Mt Rainier Osceola of Enumclaw where there are vast rolling hills of farmlands and pastures. If we are luck, Mt Rainier will poke through the clouds and grace us with her presence. From there we will make our way east, deeper into the wilderness to find Deep Lake (MILE 19 restroom break) and Green River Gorge. After the climb out of the gorge, we will stop at Black Diamond Bakery (MILE 28: restroom and refreshment break) Then on our way back, we will ride through the Lake Sawyer neighborhood, around Lake Morton (MILE 35 optional porta-potty break), onto the the Lake Holmes rollers, and finally the curvy fast descent back down to Auburn...Wheeee!
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and regroup, otherwise we stay together. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather is drizzly, we ride. If its super rainy, I will cancel. If there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, I will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
