**CANCELLED** Hilly! Gig Harbor - Olalla - South Kitsap (Moderate)

Did you have fun on Chilly Hilly? Enjoy a ride in rural areas with lots of ups and down? Join us for a fun loop starting in Gig Harbor, visiting Olalla and going through the most southern part of Kitsap County. 

We'll meet at the Kimball Drive Park and ride, the corner closest to the Cushman Trail trailhead, next to the Wilco store.  Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and will regroup after hills and before turns if we are spread out. We'll be doing a few miles at the beginning and end of the ride on Gig Harbor's lovely Cushman shared use trail, which has no official speed limit but where we will ride in a way that is safe for all users, which might at times be slightly below our stated pace.  

Restrooms may be available at the start, depending on if Pierce Transit has the doors unlocked. There is a Starbucks just down the street on the corner of Pioneer and Kimball that you can stop at on the way in if needed and there are some public washrooms within the first few miles of the ride that we can also stop at if needed.  We'll plan to stop at the lovely Olalla Bay Market (mile 13) for about 15 minutes. There are washrooms there and food is available for purchase. 

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
