... of 10 spots remaining
Registration deadline was 12/14/2024 8:00am
Please note, this is a Women and Non-binary ride only. W&NB rides are only for individuals that identify as a woman or non-binary, including trans-gender women and cis-gender women. Male identifying riders can support this group best by finding other appropriate rides on the Free Group Rides calendar and leaving this space for W&NB riders.
We will start at Logboom Park near the kids play area. This is a 27 mile route at a Steady pace of 12-14 mph. We are doing a very standard North Lake Loop route that starts on the Burke Gilman trail for a warmup, takes us into Kirkland, along the lake and over the 520 bridge to the U-District. Just after the University we will stop for coffee and treats at Zoka Coffee. We join back up with the Burke Gilman trail for a little bit and then peel off down to Sandpoint Way for our final climb. Sandpoint Way is a steady climb with plenty of shoulder that we all take at our own pace and meet at the top. From there we will wander through the neighborhood and then hit a steep drop down to the Burke Gilman trail. The grade is fairly steep but switches back and forth so it can be taken at a very slow pace. Depending on the condition of the road we may just walk our bikes down for safety. Once back on the Burke Gilman we have an easy jaunt back to Logboom.
Please meet at the ride start and ready to ride no later than 10 am. We will start with a required safety briefing and then begin riding when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
If you are unsure of your pace or are a new rider, please contact the ride leader to determine if the pace would be appropriate.
At the ride start there are restrooms and water. The coffee stop will be at about mile 18 at Zoka Coffee. Please bring money if you wish to purchase coffee/snacks.
If a rider has a mechanical issue, we will stop to assist the rider. If there is a major mechanical issue preventing a roadside fix, we will ensure the rider has a safe means to return to the start or home. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above (showers cancel) or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
Helmets are required.
If you don’t have full fenders and the roads are wet, you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
We hope you will join us!
