**CANCELLED** Wild Wild West - Rural Area to the west of Gig Harbor starting in Tacoma (Moderate)

We'll meet in the parking lot of the Narrows Park and Ride on 6th Avenue. Be there, ready to ride, at 10am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

Ride starts on the shared use path over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and continues into rural areas west of the City of Gig Harbor. We'll go through Artondale, Arletta &  Rosedale and make our way back to the bridge via Cushman Trail.  

There are hills on this ride! We will climb and descend at our own paces and will be regrouping after hills and before turns if we are spread out.  

Plenty of free parking, but unfortunately no public washrooms at our start location. There is a Starbucks just down the street, 6330 6th Avenue, that you can stop at on the way to the start. At mile 5, we can do a short detour to Metropolitan Market to use the washrooms there if needed. We'll be passing Island View Market (mile 16.5) and Rosedale Market (mile 17.5) and we may stop briefly at one of those. There's a washroom at the Grandview Trailhead (mile 25.5) that we can stop at before heading to the bridge and crossing back over to Tacoma.  

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
