Hills Out Of Auburn! Alki Metric Loop (Brisk)

Let's meet at the Auburn Fred Meyer Northwest parking lot. Be there, ready to go at 9:00 am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

HOOA! We start this metric century the right way with a climb straight up Cemetery Hill. Then over Federal Way to Redondo Beach. Then Climb out of Redondo to make our way North for some more climbs along the water to Alki for lunch at Blue Moon Burgers. Then an easy flat ride back to Auburn. This ride promises views of Vashon and Bainbridge Islands across the Puget Sound.  If the sky is clear, The Olympic mountains will be in the backdrop.  And then from the Alki side, there will be views of the Seattle cityscape. 

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and then regroup, otherwise we stay together. We will also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10MPH.)

Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for;

• Restroom at Redondo at Mile 10
• Food Drink and Restrooms at Blue Moon Burgers Alki at Mile 32
• Restrooms at Van Doren Park at Mile 53

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group. 

Note: If there is snow or ice, or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
