Let's meet at the Cascade Bike Club headquarters in Magnuson Park. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Let's celebrate the end of summer and the arrival of the rainy season. Join me for a counter clockwise loop on 3 of the most popular bike trails (520, Sammamish River and Burke-Gilman) in the region. This route has been purposely chosen to minimize car interaction on what is expected to possibly be a wet day. It's time to install those fenders, and get out the rain jackets, waterproof gloves, shoe covers and remember to dress in layers. The ride will not be cancelled for rain, UNLESS there is lightening in the forecast. We will stop for coffee and food in Redmond with additional restroom stops if needed between there and Log Boom Park.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will stay together. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop for coffee/snacks at River Trail Roasters at mile 17.3 in Redmond. We will also stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles 23 (Wilmot Gateway) or 28 (Log Boom) depending on the needs of the group.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders or you will be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
