Hello there, Cycling Folks!π
Please be on time and ready to ride at 9:15 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
The meeting point is at the W6 parking lot in Magnuson Park. Please also use this link to find driving directions to the meeting point: https://maps.app goo.gl/Pi3r7UCtAr6CDgqu9
Get ready for an exciting and unique experience as we ride across two of the longest floating bridges in the world! The Evergreen Point Floating Bridge - 520 Bridge (1.46 Miles) and the Lacey V. Murrow Memorial - I-90 Bridge (1.19 Miles) are beautiful and easy to ride across. There are only a few small hills at the end to get to the bridge decks, making it a thrilling yet manageable ride.
Here are some interesting details on Wikipedia about these bridges to explore: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evergreen_Point_Floating_Bridge https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lacey_V._Murrow_Memorial_Bridge
Cascade Bicycle Club's top priority is your safety and fun. We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, regroup frequently, and limit our speeds to the legal maximum (10 or 15 mph). This ensures everyone is comfortable and safe throughout the ride on multi-use pathways.

The ride will last about three hours, if not shorter. Portable toilets are available at the start. If necessary, we will stop for restrooms and water at mileposts 11 and 21. During our riding journey, we will visit the viewpoints of these bridges at mileposts 8 and 19. The Metropolitan Market at milepost 28 offers delicious coffee and snacks.
It is best to keep a spare tube and tools readily available in case of a flat tire. In addition to these necessary items, itβs always wise to carry a phone, ID, cash and/or credit card, ORCA card, water, and a small snack. Having your working rear-blinking red light is significant for prioritizing your traffic safety. When the roads are wet, it is best to have full fenders; otherwise, you may be asked to ride in the rear.
NOTE: The Ride Leader will cancel the trip and notify all registered riders via email if the weather meets the right column's cancellation threshold, unexpected dangerous riding conditions, or other events occur. Rider Leader(s) will NOT be at the start of the ride, which is canceled two hours prior. Please verify before riding.
I eagerly look forward to you joining us for this exciting cycling event! Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to ride across the longest floating bridges in the world and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
See you there!π
