Ride with me to the famous Snohomish Bakery. Outbound we will ride Seattle Hill road and various side roads, ending up with some great spinning on Lowell Larimer Road and Lowell Snohomish River Road. We will return via Broadway through Maltby and Woodinville.
Start Time & Location: We'll meet at the Woodinville Sports Fields. Across the street is Wilmot Gateway Park, where restrooms are available.
Please be there, ready to ride, at 9am. We will start with the required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Pace: We will ride 12 to 14mph on the flats, faster down hills or with a tailwind, slower up hills or with a headwind. We'll limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (typically 15 MPH).
Navigation: The planned route/cue sheet is at the link to the right. The goal is to stay together via regrouping as necessary, but we won’t be able to wait long for anyone substantially off the pace. Please bring navigation aids in case you need to finish on your own, as the ride becomes self-led for those ahead of or behind the group.
Restrooms: There are planned restroom stops at mile 14 and 34 in addition to the restroom at the food stop @ mile 26.
Food: The food stop is brief (20 min.). NOTE: food delivery can be slow at Snohomish Bakery if any prep is required (items straight from the pastry case and coffee are usually quick enough). Ask about prep/delivery time before ordering!
Cancellation: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unhealthy air quality, unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
Repairs: Be prepared with the equipment and know-how to take care of your own flats and mechanicals, and a plan for getting back to the start if your bike won't take you there (ORCA card or someone to call). If you have a problem the group may stop briefly to make sure you will be OK on your own, but we may not wait for repairs to be completed.
Hope you can join us!
