Columbia City Night Market from Capitol Hill Link - One-Way Social Ride (Steady)
Event has already happened.
Full
... of 15 spots remaining
We'll meet at the large X sculpture made of speakers in the plaza directly across Barbara Bailey Way from the southern entrance to the Capitol Hill Link Station. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
We'll end up at the Columbia City Night Market (6-10 pm, free) and meet other Cascade riders at the beer garden (21+, bring ID). There are several food trucks and local vendors to shop with if you want to stay a while. Bring a lock for Night Market bike parking, and bring lights if you plan to ride home. This is a one-way lead ride! You will need to find your own way home.
The Market is a few blocks from the Columbia City light rail station if you want to take the train back to the start. If you want to ride back, a 6-mile direct route is in the additional links. You'll want bike lights for the ride home.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will stay together. Restrooms and water are not available at the start. If needed, we will stop at the Yesler Community Center (1.2 miles from start) for restrooms and water.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: Bike lock; phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; lights; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
