Let's go watch the Blue Angels practice! (Leisurely)
Event has already happened.
... of 15 spots remaining
It’s Seafair time again! We are going to ride our bikes and watch the Blue Angels practice! This is NOT some hard core, blow your doors off, meet all your HIIT goals for the week; no. Join us for a LEISURELY (10mph-12mph on flats) ride from Resonate Brewery in Newport Hills to Stan Sayers Park on Lake Washington! Let's meet at 2pm at Resonate Brewery at 5608 119th Avenue Southeast, Bellevue 98006. Blue Angels start practice at 330p.
<Park away from the building so we don't take up spots for a long period close to the brewery>
Please be ready to ride at 2PM. We will start with a required safety briefing at 2PM and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
We’ll head down hill to pick up the Eastrail then pick up the I90 trail and cross to Seattle. We’ll make a call about camping out at the observation point at Mount Baker or descending to Lake Washington and making our way to Stan Sayers Park (where official things like gates, tickets, parking, etc are to be found.) We are NOT going to pay to get in; we’re just going to find a fun place to watch the practice
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace regrouping at top of bigger hills. Otherwise, we will stay together. Restrooms and water may be available at the start (Resonate Brewery) and will be available at Colman Beach (mile 11.9)
After the ride we will (optionally) regroup at Resonate Brewing & Pizzeria to visit and for something to drink/eat (we will each pay for our own food/drink.)
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
Best,
John
