Let's meet at the Tibbets Valley Skate Park in Issaquah. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Join me and a few others on a scenic loop around Lake Sammamish! Not a climbing ride or a long distance marathon, just a simple - relatively easy ride around one of the most scenic lakes adjacent to Seattle and Bellevue. We will start with a brief excursion to visit the Jakob Two Trees Troll in Issaquah, then continue up along East Lake Sammamish Trail up to Peets Coffee for a delicious snack and beverages! Enough climbing portions on the return to keep it interesting, but not challenging for most experienced cyclists.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup occasionally. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
Restrooms are nearby at the start, near the Baseball Fields. We will stop at Peets Coffee/ Whole Foods near the East Sammamish Trail Head at 13.4 miles. There will be an optional Rest Room break while crossing Marymoor Park (Mile 14).
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, such as Heat Index temperature above 90 degrees, or AQI Values well above 150, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
