Renton-Lake Meridian-Black Diamond Bakery - Version #2 (Moderate)
Event has already happened.
... participants registered
Join us for a ride from Renton Old City Hall to Black Diamond Bakery on a 73.7-mile route at Moderate (14-16 MPH). The pace of this ride is based on having no wind and being on a flat road. If there is a headwind or a hill, the pace will be lower, if we have a tailwind or downhill, the pace may be higher. Due to the number of similar routes, I ride version numbers are used, versions of the same ride may have very different elevation profiles, keep this in mind when deciding to do this ride. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that is done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
We will ride out to Lake Meridian and along quiet rural roads on our quest for adventure. Return will be through Green Valley and the Green River Trail, for a relaxing finish to the ride.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup as needed. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are not available at the start, please plan accordingly. We will make the following stops.
Distance | Stop | Type | Time |
8.3 | Lake Boren Park | Restroom/Water | 5:00min |
27.6 | Lake Meridian Park | Restroom/Water | 5:00min |
37.2 | Black Diamond Bakery | Restroom/Food/Water | 20.00min |
55 | Issac Evans Park | Restroom (Optional) | |
64.5 | Van Doren's Landing Park | Last Restroom/Water | 5:00min |
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case.
Other things phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you will be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events such as a Zombie Apocalypse, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, the Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride. Mentoring available for prospective Ride Leaders with advance notification.
We hope you can join us!
