Let's meet at the Centennial Trail trailhead in Lake Stevens at 20th Street Northeast. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Let’s get acquainted on a fun social ride to a fabulous lunch stop at Nutty’s Junkyard. If you haven’t been to Nutty’s Junkyard you are in for a treat! We will start in Lake Stevens and head north for a lovely ride on the paved trail and will pass the beautiful and tranquil Lake Cassidy. We will then proceed down hill making the first half of the ride quick and fun. Then the real reason for this ride a delicious lunch stop, YUM!! Don’t worry you will get the challenge of a climb on our return trip. If you are not fond of hills that’s okay we will take the uphill section nice and slow. Hills are not easy and I promise you will not be left behind for a slow up hill pace. The trail will level out and we’ll take a quick break at Lake Cassidy before returning to the trail head.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup frequently. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. We will also stop halfway at mile 13.1 for restrooms/water and an (OPTIONAL) chance for coffee/milk shakes/food at Nutty’s Junkyard Grill. With food as an option our rest stop time may be longer than usual for Cascade rides. Trust me the burgers are worth it!
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
