Let's meet at the Wilmot Gateway Park Restrooms by the Sammish River Trail. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
This is a modified version of the off road ride known as Thrilla. Our pace is spirited about equivalent to the road bike version of Brisk. Though not a technical ride there are still some hazards such as water bars, roots, and some large rocks. There are some steep punchy sections where the line between spinning out and wheelie are close together.
There will be two possible routes. Odd number calendar day days will be Counter Clockwise CCW and even calendar days will be clockwise CW
CCW https://ridewithgps.com/routes/46259323
CW https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45191773
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup Occasionally. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. We have a couple of spots where we will have a quick bite along the route.
Things sometimes go wrong, therefore it is essential to carry the necessary tools and supplies to fix flats and other likely mechanical issues. Bring a powerful light. Other things to bring: jacket, first aid kit, phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
