Free Group Ride
Kirkland Social: Bellevue, Rose Hill, Norkirk (Steady)
Registrations are closed.
Day-of-event registration not available
Let's meet at Heritage Park Parking Lot. Be ready to ride at the time listed above. We will start with the required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate. If you plan to join enroute please contact the ride leader in advance to arrange for a safety briefing.
We will ride from Heritage Park down Market and through the “Kirkland Scramble” construction area to the Kirkland Cross Corridor/Eastrail. We leave the Eastrail at the Northup connector to Northup Way and the Bellevue Spring Street area, then west to Medina and north to Yarrow Point. We return north to the Kirkland Urban QFC/Starbucks for a 30-minute food/snack stop @ mile 17.4. The route continues via Kirkland’s Everest neighborhood, Northwest University, and over the 60th Street bridge to the Rose Hill and Norkirk neighborhood greenways, crossing back over 405 at the 100th Street overpass.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and will regroup when necessary. Riders should be able to sustain a 12-14 mile per hour pace on the flats with a commensurate level of effort on the hills.
Restrooms and water are not available at the start, but we will stop at Marina Bay Park @ mile 0.3. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring are a phone, ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, the Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us.
