It's time to stop and smell the tulips! This will be a social ramble on country roads through the tulip fields and farms. There will be plenty of stops for photos. The tulips will be blooming but it's late enough that the daffs will probably be gone. We'll ride from Mt Vernon but we won't be stopping for lunch at a restaurant so bring something for lunch on the road and of course your camera. We may also get a chance to see and photograph Snow geese, Trumpeter swans and miniature donkeys so cute you'll want to take one home.
Let's meet at Edgewater Park at 10:00 for our pre-ride safety briefing, with a departure as soon as the briefing is over. You MUST be at the briefing in order to ride. At last check, the restrooms at the start are open but they have a history of closures. You might want to stop in Mt Vernon or the I-5 rest stop at Arlington.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Cancellation: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
