Kirkland Social Bellevue, Arboretum and Madison Park (Steady)

Let's meet at Heritage Park Parking Lot.  Be ready to ride at the time listed above. We will start with the required safety briefing and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.  If you plan to join enroute please contact the ride leader in advance to arrange for a safety briefing.

We will ride south from Kirkland into downtown Bellevue for a brief rest stop at Medina Beach Park and then across the 520 bridge and through the Arboretum on East Arboretum Drive. The cherry trees and other spring flowers should be in bloom, and we will get to see them twice, first enroute to Madison Park and then on the return. We will have a 30-minute lunch stop at Starbucks in Madison Park.  The ride returns to the start via the West Arboretum Trail, 520 trail and Lake Washington Blvd/Lake Street.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and will regroup when necessary. Riders should be able to sustain a 12-14 mile per hour pace on the flats with a commensurate level of effort on the hills.

Restrooms and water are not available at the start, but we will stop at Marina Park at mile 0.3.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring are a phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. 

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, the Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
