TREATS: Redmond – Bellevue Zigzag (Steady)

Join us for an unhurried social ride from Redmond. This is a winding, 29.1-mile, Steady paced (12-14mph) route through Redmond, Bellevue, and Beaux Arts Village, returning through the west Microsoft campus and the Idylwood neighborhood.  There are hills, but we climb them with a commensurate level of effort of a Steady pace and will stay together.   We’ll make a brief loop through Bellevue’s scenic Vuecrest neighborhood, then pass through Meydenbauer Beach Park for a restroom stop at Mile 13.  Lunch/coffee will be at Dilettante Mocha Café at mile 19.

Let’s meet at East Lake Sammamish Trailhead parking lot (immediately west of Whole Foods Market) in Redmond. Restrooms are available at the start. Please be ready to ride at 10:00 a.m.  We’ll start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing, you will not be able to ride with the group.  If you wish to join along the route, please contact us to arrange a meeting point where we can stop and give you the safety briefing.

You can expect quite a bit of sidewalk riding to keep us out of some problematic traffic areas. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.  A downloadable ride map and cue sheet are at the link below.  If you don’t have a GPS unit or cell phone guidance, please print a cue sheet.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
