Factoria - Mercer Island - Renton Loop

Join me for a ride from Factoria on a 34 mile route at a Steady Pace of  12- 14 MPH!

This will be a recreational ride that will do a loop around Mercer Island, followed by a larger loop around the South end of Lake Washington. The conditions look encouraging, but be prepared for cold weather.

Let's meet at Factoria Mall, at the North West corner near the Novilhaus Restaurant, and please be ready to ride at 11:00. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).

Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms at Aubrey Davis Park on Mercer Island at 13.5 miles, and at Gene Coulon Park at 27.6 miles. We’ll also stop for coffee/snacks at Caffe Vita in the Lakewood neighborhood at 19 miles. We may also stop for photos at the I-90 Overlook, at mile 16.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
