Soos Creek - Boon Boona - Renton Hill

Join us for a ride from Soos Creek on a 31-mile route at Moderate Pace (14-16 mph). 

If you like hills AND sleeping in, this could be your Saturday ride. Soos Creek is a gentle & scenic place to warm up before cutting over to the alluring Cedar River Watershed. We'll stop at the African specialty coffee house Boon Boona for a quick break, and then cheer each other on up the intimidating 1-mile Renton Hill climb. When we've all caught our breath, it's a short, rolling ride back to the Soos Creek Trailhead parking lot.

Let's meet at the Soos Creek Trailhead Parking Lot, and please be ready to ride at 11:00 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup frequently. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, but more slowly for ducks, children or other wildlife in the roadway).

Restrooms are available at the start (Port-a-Potty). We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles 11.8 and 21.6 (optional, as needed). We’ll stop for coffee/snacks at Boon Boona Coffee House at mile 24.8.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
