Join us for a ride from the Middle Fork Trailhead while we ride the gravel portion of the Middle Fork Road a few miles past Dingford Creek Falls to a point where views of the the north sides of Snoqualmie Mountain and Lundin Peak can be enjoyed alongside the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River.
We will meet at the trailhead for the Middle Fork Trail which is located just before the end of the paved section of the Middle Fork Road (and where the suspension bridge across the Snoqualmie River is located). The parking lot is on the right side of the road and is located approximately 11.5 miles from Twin Falls Middle School. There is no cell reception at the starting point for the ride.
The ride can be done on either a gravel bike or a mountain bike, though I think that a mountain bike would be preferable. The road will likely have multiple large puddles to navigate either around or through. We will aim for the equivalent effort of a high moderate pace on a road ride though we will of course be going slower than this given the surface and terrain. The views on this ride are very nice, especially at Dingford Creek Falls and when alongside the upper portions of the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River.
As we will be off the beaten path with difficult access for cars to Dingford Creek and no access for cars beyond Dingford Creek, come prepared to be able to fix a flat tire or a mechanical issue, bring headlights or bike lights in case of any issues (otherwise we should be back at our cars long before dark), and bring some extra clothing, water and snack food. Also realize that if you have a major bike issue, you will need to be able to walk several miles with your bike to get back to your car.
Restrooms are available at the start. A Northwest Forest Pass is required for parking at the Middle Fork Trailhead.
Note: If there is a significant possibility of rain or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
